Ontario Place Public Consultation

GPA was retained by the City of Toronto as independent facilitator to convene public and stakeholder consultations for the redevelopment of Ontario Place. In November 2022, Infrastructure Ontario submitted a development application for the redevelopment of Ontario Place to the City of Toronto. The application includes an Official Plan Amendment and Rezoning application for public realm, shoreline, heritage and underground parking proposals for the non-tenanted lands, as well as for entertainment, recreation and wellness uses on the West Island on behalf of Therme.  The City is in its usual role of managing the review of this application. To inform its review, as part of the development approval process, the City is undertaking community consultations. GPA is responsible for coordinating facilitating, and reporting back on consultation activities. Activities included in-person and virtual plenary sessions, open-mic question and commenting periods, small group discussions, an open house, a community walk, and asynchronous digital feedback forms.
