Low-Rise Medium Density Typology Study for Neighbourhood Areas

Client
City of Richmond Hill

Location
Richmond Hill

Duration
2018 ongoing
The Official Plan provides scope for limited intensification within Neighbourhoods as set out in design parameters for low-rise medium density residential and mixed uses (such as townhouses and walk-up apartments). The City is presently updating the Official Plan and considering how and where a greater mix of housing types could be permitted, while respecting the character and distinguishing features of neighbourhoods across the city.
The Low-Rise Medium Density Typology Study for Neighbourhood Areas will provide recommendations on how Richmond Hill’s Official Plan and Zoning By-Law can be strategically modified to better accommodate certain forms of gentle intensification within neighbourhoods, while controlling to prevent negative impacts.
