GPA staff were involved in all aspects of the planning approvals for this 46 storey 446 unit condominium development on Charles Street just east of Yonge Street in Toronto. The site is located on lands which were formerly the headquarters of the Toronto Childrens Aid Society. The Society issued a proposal call and architectural competition in 2003. Cresford Developments was the successful respondent. John Gladki of GPA was the planning expert on the submission. The first phase was the development of the new Childrens Aid Society headquarters on Isabella Street. The second phase included the residential condominium development. The approval process involved a rezoning application and a subsequent Committee of Adjustment application in 2006. The project includes the preservation and restoration of a heritage building on Isabella Street as the new home of the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Archives. The development is now completed and occupied.
