Project Description

GPA completed a Background Study that will inform the preparation of the Yonge Street and Carrville Road/16th Avenue Key Development Area Secondary Plan. The study outlines a preferred development option and policy directions for the area. The first component of the study involved researching, analyzing, and synthesizing information to further articulate the land use and design policies based on the Official Plan and other plans. The second component involved the preparation of land use and design options. The study included a public consultation process and addresses the key components of the Secondary Plan, including: appropriate densities; land use mix; block structure and street pattern; streetscapes; parks and open spaces; built form; pedestrian, transit and vehicular movement; parking strategies; place-making elements; and other potential initiatives such as Section 37 benefits.
